Okay, so I have a Casio CDP-100 keyboard and a MacBook Pro. I've got a USB to Midi Cable, and I've plugged it into my Mac, In GarageBand a notification comes up saying 1 Midi Device has been recognised. We're having what may be the same problem with a Casio PX-400R. See topic 'Casio Privia Keyboard and Garage Band'. Another discussion on the topic is 'how do I find out if a keyboard is compatible.'
We have a usb and a midi output. We've only connected with the usb device cable and the keyboard is not recognized. We found a store with a midi interface, but hesitate to spend the money if it is not likely that will solve the problem. Mac is not listed as one of the drivers on our Casiso CD listing of downloads so we think using a Casio with a Mac may be a no-go.
Our Casio manual only references outputting to a 'computer'. We're still holding out some hope.
If you have a midi cable and try it, we will be interested in the results.
good luck.
